Drawing upon recordings and writings by Dennis Severs, The Gentle Author has reinvented Dennis Severs' Tour as a scripted dramatic journey led by an actor.

Dennis arranged each room as a scene in a fictional family drama, inspired by the shadows of the past he imagined within the house.

For aficionados, this tour is an opportunity to return and discover Dennis Severs’ creation anew through his own words.

The performance lasts for approximately 80 minutes and is followed by a short Q&A.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

• Please arrive on time for your Tour. The Tour is a theatrical experience and we are unable to admit latecomers under any circumstances.
• Tickets are non-refundable and may not be exchanged or transferred.
• One ticket is valid for one person only.
• All guests must be at least 12 years of age. 
  
• The Dennis Severs’ Tour is limited to 7 guests therefore we are unable to accommodate any changes or cancellations.
• CONTENT WARNING - The tour contains references to suicide.
• All tours involve walking around the House and climbing stairs.
• Stiletto heels cannot be worn in the House.
• Only handbags and small backpacks are allowed in the House. You will be asked to carry small backpacks by hand or wear them on your front.
• Due to restrictions in space please note that we are not able to accommodate pushchairs.
• Please be aware some spaces within the House are restricted.
  
• Due to the age and character of the building, the House has dim lighting, uneven floors, steep stairs and other hazards. You must follow safety instructions from the staff at all times.
• A good proficiency of spoken English is required to enjoy the tour to its fullest.

ACCESSIBILITY

Due to the nature of the building, its Grade II listing and the different floor levels, there is no wheelchair access. Visitors must be able to evacuate the building unaided, or with the support of their designated carer.
